Why SpeedSound?

I didn't set out to build a company; I just wanted to build things that work.

To be honest, the word "founder" always felt a bit too heavy for me. I’ve always considered myself a builder.

A year ago, I shipped TwitterShots. It was my first real attempt.

Today, it is closing in on $1,000 MRR and is used by tens of thousands of people every single day.

More than the revenue, I am incredibly proud of one thing: I proved that you can build and ship something people genuinely love and are willing to pay for—all by yourself, without a team.

SpeedSound came from a story when I read Walter Isaacson's book "Steve Jobs":

A sixteen-year-old boy from Michigan, bought Coldplay's "Speed of Sound" on iTunes. This song was the billionth song ever sold on iTunes.

That story stayed with me. I have always deeply admired the uncompromising taste of Steve Jobs and Apple.

At the same time, Coldplay is my absolute favorite band. To me, "Speed of Sound" is the perfect bridge between two worlds: the cold precision of technology, and the warm, boundless emotions of music.

I want to build products with that good taste, and the sense of Universe, Love, and Freedom I hear in their music, That is why I named my first company SpeedSound.

To everyone who has taken a screenshot with TwitterShots, sent feedback, or supported a solo developer: thank you. This is just the first track of a very long album.

Keep building, keep listening.
